In the Season two premiere of "The Sound & The Journey" we have a concise interview featuring two of our upcoming guests: Resident Playwright Sandra Delgado and Mark Larson, author of "Ensemble An Oral History of Chicago Theater." This episode is a recording of a live panel discussion Chicago Dramatists held prior to the quarantine. Featured were three guest speakers: Resident Playwrights Sandra Delgado and Kristin Idaszak, and Steppenwolf alum Sandra Marquez. The evening was moderated by Mark Larson, and the event was hosted by Open Books, located in Chicago's West Loop. Full episodes featuring interviews with both Sandra and Mark are slated for later this season.

In Season 1, Episode 4, I interview Resident Playwright and Tutterow Alum Derek McPhatter, a recent recipient of a 2021 Creative Capital Award. We spoke about his journey to playwriting, the influence and importance of genre in his work, and how for Derek, writing is a vibrant and essential form of resistance.
